Exceptional 6-Year-Old Blue Roan Draft Cross Gelding

If you are searching for an excellent all around horse who is big, athletic, handsome, and kind — look no further, because here he is!! Meet Bodhi. He is a gorgeous 17 hand blue roan draft cross gelding. He turns heads with his stunning silvery color, powerful head, and absolutely wonderful disposition! This boy is a blast to have at the farm and is a total barn favorite. Easy going and sweet. Always the first across the field to say greet you. In the ring he will walk, trot, and canter, effortlessly picks up his leads and has extremely smooth transitions and super comfortable gaits. He will ride on a loose rein or you can collect him and he will use himself really nicely. He is super athletic and can hold himself in canter in a tight circle on a short lunge line.

Bodhi loves to jump, and is always game and not spooky to his fences. He is very brave and willing! Bohdi loves to trail ride and will go out in groups or by himself. He is completely fine alone and will ride on the buckle. He will lead or follow and he is very sure footed and careful through steep terrain and rocky trails. He crosses streams, creeks and bridges along the way. His favorite thing to do is take swims in the pond on hot days. This guy just loves people and will hangout with you all day long no matter what adventure you throw at him!

Bodhi is young and intelligent and very trainable. He would fit perfectly in a competitive training program with an advanced rider who can take him to the next level. He is definitely a horse that can go all the way with you. With the right training and a skilled rider, he could be worth a lot of money one day. He would make a really awesome foxhunter, dressage or event horse, he has tremendous endurance — or he could just be your big fun trail riding horse for the husband to throw the western tack on. He loves to work. He is very smart and teachable — he learns new skills quickly and so he’s been really fun to train. He has been taught to yield to the leg and now does it easily, even bareback and without a bridle. With his willing attitude, I believe this big sweet gelding will give just about anything a try!

In the barn Bodhi has perfect manners. He stands in the cross ties falling asleep. He picks up all 4 feet like a gentleman and is patient and willing for the farrier and the vet. He lowers his head every time so you can bridle him, and patiently waits for us when we mess up. He’s not at all girthy. He is relaxed and willing.

He gets along well with others in the pasture and he is not aggressive and is very easy going. He is not herd bound or pushy. He can be led in by small kids and he patiently waits his turn. Good to bathe, clip (ears and all) loads perfect on the trailer as well. He is up to date on all shots, Coggins, worming and teeth. Clean bill of health including blood in December 2023. Teeth floated Mar and Dec 2023. No parasites. No Lyme. Clean bloodwork. Never been lame. Bodhi is 100 percent sound. He has big beautiful feet and has never needed shoes. Bodhi is ridden and loved by all at the farm, young and old. Never has he offered to buck, rear or show any nasty behavior under tack or on the ground. He has been a pleasure to bring along and is now ready to find his forever partner to have many adventures with!!
