Donnie is a 15 year old Spotted Draft cross gelding standing 15.1 hands high. This guy is the perfect size and disposition for any rider! He is what we call a pocket sized draft cross, close enough to the ground to make for easy mounting and dismounting, while being built stocky and sturdy so that any sized rider can enjoy! Donnie is gentle and calm for children or timid adults, and kind and forgiving on the ground and under saddle. His smooth gaits and reliable nature make for an enjoyable ride both in the arena and out on the trails. Plus, who can resist the chunkiest, fluffiest horse in the barn?

In the ring, Donnie is straightforward and easy to ride. He has 3 smooth and rhythmic gaits that are easy to sit. He picks up both leads easily, listens well to voice commands, and will plop along on a loose rein. Donnie is a great mix of whoa and go. He moves forward easily when asked, your legs won’t be tired of kicking and squeezing, yet will never go faster than you ask him to go. Donnie will pop over small logs and jumps, both in the ring and out on the trails. He’s safe and steady enough for our kids to walk and trot around on. He even gives pony rides to the youngest kids and their friends!

On the trails, Donnie is an old pro. He is a true trail master type that will go anywhere and do anything you ask of him. He crosses all obstacles, water, and is safe on the road near traffic. He will ride alone or in a group. In the barn, Donnie is gentle and kind. He has great ground manners and is easy for anyone to handle. He is happy in a stall or living in the pasture in a mixed herd of mares and geldings. He is barefoot, requires no maintenance, and is the easiest keeper.

You can’t go wrong with Donnie! He is great for husbands, guests, or those looking to get back into riding. He has done all of the prep work for mounted patrol including smoke bombs, gun fire, fire, fireworks, as well as all the usual desensitization. Donnie is used to all types of sounds, experiences, and situations. He is an easygoing guy that gets along with everyone!

We listed Donnie a couple of months ago and he is just a little too big for his new owner, so she has decided to relist him so that someone else can enjoy him!

Please Note:

In the event of technical issues (site crash, server glitch, etc) within the last 4 minutes of the auction that prevent you from placing your bid, please contact Traci Roy (940-224-3036) or Jeff Peck (940-882-0269) within FIVE MINUTES of the close of the auction and we will continue the bidding via group text.THIS ONLY APPLIES IN THE EVENT OF TECHNICAL ISSUES BEYOND OUR CONTROL.

Auto Bidding:

Auto-bidding is available and is very easy to do! To place an auto-bid, instead of bidding the minimum $200 increment, simply enter the amount of your maximum bid (max bid). Doing this will automatically keep you $200 above everyone else until your max bid is reached or the auction ends, whichever comes first. You may also increase your max bid at any time without your current bid being affected. In the event that your max bid is reached and you are outbid, you will receive a text message letting you know that you have been outbid. This text will include a link for you to use to place a higher bid.

Buyers Premium:

Starting March 6, 2022 we will be implementing a 3% Buyers Premium on all sales.

Buy It Now:

Magic Horse Auction now offers a Buy It Now (BIN) feature on some horses. This feature allows buyers to purchase a horse now and not have to wait until the end of an auction. Our Buy It Now (BIN) option is only available at the sellers discretion. If the seller offers a Buy It Now, a bidder can purchase that horse immediately at a price set by the seller. When the “Buy It Now” button is hit and confirmed, the auction ends immediately and the bidder who activated the BIN is responsible for payment within 48 hrs of activation of BIN.
The “Buy It Now” option will be removed 24 hrs prior to the close of the auction, unless otherwise specified.

Time Addition:

Please be aware that if a bid is placed within 4 minutes of the close of the auction, an additional 2 minutes will be added to the clock to give any other bidders time to place their last minute bid as well. This will continue each time a bid is placed until 2 minutes has gone by with no new bids, at which time the auction will officially close.

Non Payment Fee:

Winning Auction payment arrangements MUST be made within 48 hrs of end of auction. There will be a $1000 non payment fee charged to the credit card on file of any winning bidder found to be in default. This also applies in the event of a bidder defaulting using the Buy It Now feature.
