“RCS Frecklewood”, barn name “Roper” is a 14.3hh, AQHA gelding foaled in 2019. Here is a 5yr old gelding, who is capable of doing a little bit of everything, and he does it with his ears forward and a smile on his face. Roper is a true unicorn, and a jack of all trades, with an absolutely stunning coat to top it all off! This is a patient, kind, sweet, and safe gelding. He is an “in your pocket” type of boy, and loves attention.

In the barn, Roper has zero bad habits. He can live in, or out, goes out with a mixed herd and can also pasture alone. He comes to the gate every morning to greet you. Roper will stand around all day long on the cross ties to be loved on, groomed, bathed, in fact he even ground ties. He is safe for children and beginners to work around. Roper doesn’t mind silliness and dogs running around his feet. He is very gentle on the ground, and has great ground manners.

Roper is a trail machine! He is brave, willing and goes anywhere you ask. He will lead, follow, go out alone and in groups. Roper crosses water, logs, ditches, rocks, and he will climb uphill and downhill all day long. He is safe with pups trailing on his heels, and doesn’t mind traffic, bikes or wildlife. You point and he goes. He can take a joke, and makes for a fun ride every time. Roper high lines for camping, and would make someone an amazing camping partner! He loads right up into the trailer every time, and trailers great. You can tie him to the trailer to tack up as well! You can pony other horses off of him, he is a great leader and does not get upset if other horses are up his rear end.

Roper rides western, english and bareback. His gaits are smooth, and comfortable, with good transitions. Sit back and say whoa and he will give you a great stop, or you can bring him down through the gaits gently. Roper will side pass, pivot, collect, ride on the buckle, move off of leg, and has a lead change. He is the perfect combo of whoa and go, kid and beginner friendly, yet fun for an advanced rider. Roper loves to please, and he is such a quick learner!

In the ring, Roper will walk, jog, trot, and canter. He knows his leads, and has a lead change. He will pop over fences and has started putting small courses together. He is a very cute little jumper! You can go around in all three gaits on a loopy rein, or ask him to ride collected. Roper is up for whatever you would like to do that day, ride him english, jump, dabble in dressage. Or ride him western, work cows, play around with the reining pattern, or ranch classes, you name it. He is just happy to be involved!

Roper adores little ones. He is very gentle with children, and takes care of them. He has packed around beginners and kids, and he just takes his time. He is tolerant of mistakes and jokes. Roper is safe with cows, and he will push/chase a cow around. He has been roped off of as well!

Roper went to a fun show, and dabbled in some fun western games, and he did it at a youth friendly level. He was very well behaved, and enjoyed the night. He could have cared less about all of the commotion, and when I was busy he stood tied to the pen. Roper is the same horse off property, and does great in new environments.

“RCS Frecklewood” aka Roper, comes from a history of well known lines. His great-great grandfather is the famous “Colonel Freckles”, who can be found in the AQHA hall of fame. Colonel Freckles is known for producing good minded, versatile horses. He has created champions in roping, versatility ranch horse, reining, cutting, and more.

Roper is the definition of an all around horse. Here is a young gelding, that can go in absolutely any direction. Where he is currently at in his training, he is youth and beginner friendly, yet has the ability to take  a rider through the levels of just about any discipline. Especially being registered with AQHA, the opportunities are limitless.

This boy is a joy to have around. He never complains, and he is drama free. He does not need to be in a routine. Do you want to go trail riding in the morning, and then go to a show that evening? Roper says “let’s do it!” Someone is going to have a very special partner.

Roper is good for the vet and farrier. He is an easy keeper with no maintenance. He can have four shoes, go barefoot, and currently has fronts on. He has nice solid hooves, clean legs, and no health or soundness issues. Roper is ready for his next adventure, and to be someone’s forever partner. Don’t miss out on this sweet boy. Please feel free to reach out for any further information! Shipping can be arranged anywhere! Be sure to watch Roper’s full video, to understand just how special this boy is!
