Tugboat aka “Tug” is a registered Clydesdale gelding 5 years old. Tugs registered name is Wooden Spoke Crew and was bred in Canada. Tug is a horse that has been loved his entire life and it shows. He is the sweetest big guy you’ll ever meet. He truly has a puppy dog mentality. He will follow you around all day without a rope, he will ground tie, he’s the first to meet you in the pasture and genuinely just loves people. In the video you’ll see various levels of riders and he doesn’t mind what level of rider you are he is the same horse no matter who or how long it’s been between rides. He has had five months professional training by a gentle hand. Tug has never bucked, reared, bit or kicked anyone, even as a young horse being broke as a three year old he was his same sweet self and did not offer to do anything that would harm someone. He is so smart and absolutely willing to do anything. He catches on to new things very fast but more importantly retains them. He is a big boy, but don’t worry he will stretch way out to help you mount. He is patient with his rider and adjusts to their needs. Put your grandma or husband on him, he will ride them around all day. He will leave the herd and ride out alone without hesitation doesn’t mind being in front middle or back with a group and gets along well in the pasture as his easy going attitude shows with the herd. He is not barn sour and enjoys being out hacking the trails. He doesn’t get pushy or over stimulated at feed time, and literally stays fat on low quality air ! Tug will cross creeks, walk into ponds, mud puddles you name it and he doesn’t blink an eye. He enjoys a good swim in the pond and is often seen swimming even when no one is riding him. He has had a variety of animals around him dogs, cats, goats, chickens, mini donkey, and other horses he isn’t fazed by any of them. He is respectful of space and will stop when you stop and not drag you around. He is a great gate opener, he will swing around and line you up to open and shut the gate without beating up your legs and fighting to reach the gate. He will take on any challenge on an obstacle course, tires check, hanging scary things check, tarp check, ramp check. When faced with something new he is inquisitive but not intimidated, he just needs your encouragement that he is safe and he will forge ahead. Loads easily on trailer and doesn’t mind if it’s a stock trailer or true horse trailer. He will get snug with a mounting block for you to mount. He side passes both ways so gracefully and gentle, backs up slow without having to jerk on him. He is very easy on the bit and doesn’t pull on your hands. He has only been a treasured trail horse but has the stamina and height to jump or take on new adventures. He could truly be whatever you want, except a barrel racer ! If you’re looking for super speed he’s not your guy but if you’re looking for a trusty mount, here he is! Our farrier says he’s the easiest Clydesdale he’s ever worked with because he doesn’t rest on you or pull his foot away he just stand waiting for you to finish. People are always looking for a good age, good built, level headed horse to keep for a lifetime well Tug is your horse and not to mention he looks stunning !! He is loyal, loving and genuinely doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. These type horses don’t come along every day and he will make someone a great riding partner, don’t miss out on this gem of a horse.
